Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iosif Kirill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirill comes into the arena with Freur Frei blaring out of the sound system. Winchester has chosen Carry on my wayward son as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kirill enables Winchester to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kirill manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kirill lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kirill.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Winchester bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kirill takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kirill tries to bench press Winchester off him but Winchester keeps the position.
Winchester in side control, throwing shots but Kirill defends.

Winchester misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Winchester is trying to get an arm triangle but Kirill is defending well.
Kirill is letting Winchester control him for a moment.
The strikes coming from Winchester are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Winchester in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Winchester postures up and lands a big shot to Kirill's brow.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Winchester accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Winchester postures up in Kirill's guard and throws a big left but Kirill blocks it.
Winchester wants to control from the top but Kirill keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kirill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Winchester showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
