And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koopa misses with a takedown attempt
and Tran cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like King Koopa has been cut.
Tran keeps the fight on the outside.

Koopa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Koopa decides to stand back up. Koopa steps back and let's Tran get back to his feet.
Tran leaves Koopa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Koopa shoots in but no luck this time.
Jerzy Tran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Koopa.
Koopa misses with a double jab
and Tran counters with a left and a right that stings Koopa.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koopa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tran as he jumps to the side.
Tran stuffs the takedown attempt from Koopa. Koopa gets slowly back to his feet.
Koopa swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koopa is defended easily by Tran.
Koopa tries to clinch
and Tran counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Koopa thinking.
Jerzy Tran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Koopa looks winded!
Koopa tries to clinch up
and Tran counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koopa dives in and grabs Tran's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tran pushes down on Koopa's head and hops out.
King Koopa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koopa shoots and misses
and Tran counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Koopa with a lazy takedown attempt
and Tran counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Koopa fails with the takedown

and Tran counters with a left and a right that hurts Koopa! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Tran jumps into full mount!


Koopa is rocked!

Tran stands up from mount. Strange move.
Koopa tries for a takedown but Tran circles away easily
and Tran counters with a straight that turns Koopa's legs to rubber! Tran pushes forward with more strikes and Koopa goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
