Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lance Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Piere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins's entrance music is I have the whole world in my hand. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins tries to clinch up.
Hawkins takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Piere throws a series of strikes that have Hawkins backpedaling.
Piere lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Piere stuns Hawkins with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hawkins fails to land with a series of punches.
Piere closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Piere connects with a nice short shot to Hawkins's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Piere lands a slapping body shot.
Hawkins closes the distance and clinches up with Piere, looking for a takedown. Hawkins pushes Piere against the cage but Piere circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Piere lands a lovely overhand right.
Piere moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Hawkins goes down! Can Piere finish him!?
Hawkins is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Piere won't allow Hawkins to sweep him here.
Oh Hawkins is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Piere postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Hawkins covers up, he's hurt! Piere keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Piere and the ref steps in to end the fight! Piere can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
