Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marrio Marselli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Hopkins told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Hopkins!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marselli will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Adam Hopkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hopkins closes the distance and clinches.

Marselli will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hopkins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marselli is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hopkins, into his guard.
Marselli stays in close to Hopkins's body and controls the position.
Hopkins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marselli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marselli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hopkins has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Marselli is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hopkins.
Marselli decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hopkins to his feet.
Hopkins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hopkins seems a little lost for a moment, as Marselli dominates the positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Marselli shoots in for a takedown but Hopkins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Marselli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hopkins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hopkins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Marselli uses from the top position.

Hopkins looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Marselli has picked Hopkins up and slammed him! Hopkins can't keep hold of the triangle and Marselli manages to pass to side control!

Hopkins tries to bum rush Marselli with a series of wild strikes but Marselli uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Marselli lands a nice short elbow.

Hopkins moves into range and clinches up with Marselli .
Marselli pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Hopkins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Marselli 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nice takedown defense from Hopkins. No joy for Marselli on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marrio Marselli . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hopkins wants to control from the top but Marselli keeps moving.
Hopkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Marselli is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Marselli has escaped and now he's on top!
