The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Submitted stuffs the takedown.
Peppers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Submitted's guard.
Peppers tries to free his leg and advance position but Submitted is retaining full guard.
Submitted not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Peppers wants to pass the guard but Submitted is keeping the position.
Peppers slips nicely into half guard.
Submitted trying to control but Peppers postures up.
Submitted is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Peppers is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Peppers tries to pass the half guard into mount. Submitted knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Peppers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Peppers wants to take a breather but Submitted is having none of it.

Peppers is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Submitted!
Peppers wants to control the pace but Submitted is squirming around nicely.

Submitted tries to hold on but Peppers postures up.
Peppers trying to control but Submitted is having none of it.
Peppers controlling from the full mount.
Peppers is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Submitted can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Peppers looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
