Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liam Henney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pan Beniu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beniu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Henney pinned against the cage. Henney gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Henney circles away from the clinch attempt and Henney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beniu's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Beniu looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Henney seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Beniu is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Henney not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We're going to have a standup here because Liam Henney wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Beniu connects with a single shot there. Beniu throws a low kick, looking for Henney's leg but Henney calmly moves out of range. Beniu tries to clinch but Henney moves away and Henney counters with a takedown into side control. Henney controlling the position from side mount. Beniu is looking for a sweep. Beniu keeping his opponent close. Beniu is trying to escape the position but Henney is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beniu is looking for a sweep. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Henney taking a breather here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Henney seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Beniu for as long as he can get away with. Henney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Henney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beniu is trying to escape the position but Henney is controlling the position. You can see the frustration on Beniu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Beniu throws a right and a left that both miss. Beniu turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Beniu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Henney manages to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beniu thows a body kick. Henney tries to catch it but that hurt him. Beniu closes the distance but Henney moves to the side and Henney counters with a nice double leg into side control. Beniu won't be happy with that. Henney is trying to get an arm triangle but Beniu is defending well. Henney controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Henney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Henney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Henney controlling the position from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Liam Henney dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Beniu tries to clinch but Henney moves away and Henney counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Henney. Beniu thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henney postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Beniu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Henney, into his guard. Henney controlling Beniu's posture. Henney throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Beniu escapes and throws Henney's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Henney sneaks back into half guard. Beniu trying to control the action but Henney is working from the bottom. Henney looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Henney regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beniu's guard. Henney looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Henney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Henney's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beniu lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Henney! Henney is wriggling around trying to escape.
Henney manages to regain half guard. Good work. Henney wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Henney kicks off Beniu and gets to his feet. Henney takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Henney moves out of range of the body kick from Beniu.
Beniu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Henney swivels and escapes. Beniu is breathing heavily. Beniu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Henney counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Henney not doing much here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henney drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Beniu dives on top into guard. Henney wriggles free and stands up. Beniu throws a head kick that misses and Henney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beniu's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Henney sitting in guard, not really doing much. Beniu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Henney kicks Beniu off and gets back to his feet. Beniu misses with a leg kick and Henney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beniu's guard. Henney is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beniu throws his legs up looking for a submission but Henney uses it to pass to side control.
Henney happy to just control the position for now. Henney is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Beniu can do to turn this around? Beniu is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Henney has just dragged him back down to the mat.

And that's the end of the fight! Liam Henney showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Henney, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
