Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Orion Contras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Perez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Contras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Perez! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez misses with a hook. Contras ducked under it nicely. Perez throws a nice looking combination but Contras bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Contras just misses with a punch to the body.
A combination from Perez does no damage. Perez misses with a double jab.
Contras looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Perez! Contras wants to control but Perez is keeping him busy. Contras decides to stand back up. Contras steps back and let's Perez get back to his feet. Contras looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A swing and a miss from Perez. Perez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Contras has taken the fight to the clinch.
Perez tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Contras keeps control of Perez as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Contras breaks from the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Contras looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez is trying to control but Contras manages to pass to mount!
Contras manages to capitalize on a mistake by Perez to take his back! Perez tries to escape but Contras has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Contras trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Perez doesn't escape. Contras is trying to stick to Perez's back but Perez is turning into Contras. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Contras's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Perez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Perez wants to pass the guard but Contras is keeping the position. Contras is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Perez is aware though and is defending well. Contras is looking for a triangle but Perez pushes his legs off easily.
Perez trying to control the position from guard on top but Contras is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Contras wants to hit a switch here but Perez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Contras there! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Perez prevents Contras from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Contras is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez looking to ground and pound but Contras is blocking nicely. Contras tries to hold on but Perez pushes him away. BOOM! Perez connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Perez looking to control but Contras is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Contras on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Contras tries to get out of the position. Perez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Contras slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Perez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Contras is trying to maintain the position but Perez is very close to passing his half guard. Perez works his way into side control. Contras is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Contras, who protects the arm well. Perez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Perez trying to control the position but Contras is working away. The strikes coming from Perez are missing the target in this wave of attacks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Orion Contras will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Contras knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground. Contras pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perez is keeping the position for now. Perez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Contras escapes and throws Perez's legs to the side, diving into side control! Perez is looking to reverse the position. Perez is trying to control Contras's posture but Contras avoids it. Contras tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contras is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Perez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Contras off and has taken his back! Contras wants to get back to his feet. Perez is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Perez gets his hands free as Contras looks to control. Perez is persistently looking for the submission but Contras is defending it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Contras gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Perez looking for subs off his back but Contras has passed one foot through into half guard.

Richard Perez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Contras rushes Perez and presses him up against the cage. Perez lands with a short shot to the head. Perez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A nice right hand lands inside from Perez. Contras blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Perez closes the distance and lands a one-two. Perez throws a hook but Contras avoids it easily. Contras is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Perez throws a right and a left that both miss. Contras tries to bum rush Perez with a series of wild strikes but Perez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Contras closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Contras is looking to take a break and control but Perez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Contras controlling from side mount. Perez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Perez actively working from the bottom here. Contras sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perez looking for submissions off his back. Perez wants to sweep but Contras has passed to side control! Perez is looking to regain half guard here but Contras keeps moving and retains side control. Contras tries to stand but Perez is controlling his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Contras presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perez tries to hold on but Contras pushes him away. Perez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez is squirming around, avoiding Contras's attempts to control the action. Perez tries to hold on but Contras postures up. Perez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Contras. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! Orion Contras showed his dominance in that final round. I think Contras has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
