Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Sirminov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sirminov comes to the cage accompanied by Miasma. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Sirminov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raul Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sirminov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sanchez is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sirminov working away. Sirminov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Sanchez is looking to regain half guard here but Sirminov keeps moving and retains side control. Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sirminov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sirminov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sirminov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sanchez is trying to improve his position. Sirminov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sanchez takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sirminov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sirminov is breathing heavily. Sanchez is looking to reverse the position. Sanchez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sanchez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Sanchez misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanchez throws a hook but Sirminov blocks it. Sirminov throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Sanchez's head. Sirminov feints and as Sanchez raises his hands in defense, Sirminov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Sirminov is looking to work some ground and pound but Sanchez has wrist control. Sanchez trying to strike off his back.
Sirminov scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Sirminov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez looking for a guillotine here but Sirminov defends easily.

Sanchez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Sirminov works a leg free and moves into half guard. Sirminov wants to free his trapped foot but Sanchez is holding on for dear life with his legs. Sirminov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sirminov looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sirminov is thwarting Sanchez's attempts to control the position. Sanchez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sanchez tries for a takedown but Sirminov circles away easily and Sirminov counters with a single leg into guard. Sanchez didn't expect that. Sanchez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Sanchez trying to keep a closed guard but Sirminov is proving a slippery customer.
Sirminov works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ground and pound from Sirminov. Sirminov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sirminov moves into full mount! Sanchez won't be happy about that! Sirminov landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Sirminov dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sirminov lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sanchez's sensitive parts. Sirminov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sirminov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sanchez manages to regain half guard. Good work. Sirminov is trying to work for a kimura but Sanchez is defending well.
Sanchez tries to roll over but Sirminov keeps him under control. Sanchez is pressing down on Sirminov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Sirminov landing some decent shots from guard. Sanchez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sirminov is looking to improve his position but Sanchez isn't that keen on the idea. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez tries to control but Sirminov wriggling away. Sirminov is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sanchez landing punches. Sirminov slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Sirminov is looking to improve his position.
Sanchez gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Sirminov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sanchez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Sirminov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sanchez down.
Sirminov advances to full mount. Sirminov goes for an armbar but Sanchez turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sanchez. Sirminov keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully. Sanchez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sirminov is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sirminov scores with a takedown into Sanchez's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sanchez is trying to control the position but Sirminov postures up. Sirminov distracts Sanchez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Sanchez keeping full guard, as Sirminov tries to pass. Sirminov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sanchez's head. Vladimir Sirminov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sirminov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Sanchez trying to keep a closed guard but Sirminov is proving a slippery customer.
Sanchez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sirminov! Sirminov is looking to improve his position but Sanchez isn't that keen on the idea. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sanchez working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Sirminov is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Sirminov is squirming around, avoiding Sanchez's attempts to control the action. Sanchez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sirminov kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sanchez doesn't succeed with the takedown so Sirminov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sirminov stopping the sweep attempt from Sanchez. Sirminov passes Sanchez's left leg - he's now in half guard. Sirminov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sanchez preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Sirminov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sanchez is just riding it out for now. Sirminov eventually gives up the hold. Sanchez is trying to control but can't.
Sirminov moves nicely into side control. Sanchez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sirminov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Sanchez struggling a bit here. Sanchez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Sirminov advances nicely into full mount. Sanchez tries to lock up and control but Sirminov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Sirminov working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez is in no mood to give up. Sirminov prevents Sanchez from getting the reversal. Sirminov landing shots from mount. Sanchez reaches up and holds on to Sirminov to control the position. Sanchez has left one of his arms exposed and Sirminov doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Sanchez screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
