Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between SHINYA AOKI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Monsoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). AOKI comes to the cage accompanied by Naruto - Blue Bird. Jeff Monsoon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, SHINYA AOKI! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Monsoon! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! AOKI misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. AOKI on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. AOKI with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Monsoon to score with a decent uppercut. Monsoon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Monsoon is pressing down on AOKI's thigh, looking to free his foot. AOKI is holding on for now. Monsoon is working for a submission of some sort.
Monsoon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so AOKI is just riding it out for now. Monsoon eventually gives up the hold. Monsoon prevents AOKI from improving his position. AOKI won't allow Monsoon to pass to mount. AOKI works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monsoon wants to pass the guard but AOKI is keeping the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Monsoon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Monsoon throws a sloppy head kick and AOKI moves out of range easily. Monsoon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Monsoon with a poor takedown and AOKI counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Monsoon! Monsoon looks gassed! AOKI is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Monsoon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
AOKI is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Monsoon has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Monsoon is squirming around, avoiding AOKI's attempts to control the action. Monsoon really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
AOKI has hold of Monsoon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Monsoon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Monsoon is looking to improve his position but AOKI isn't that keen on the idea. Monsoon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Monsoon sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Monsoon manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monsoon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Monsoon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. AOKI doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. AOKI manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. AOKI drops back looking for a leg! Monsoon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monsoon manages to kick AOKI off! AOKI jumps back into Monsoon's guard. Monsoon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. AOKI doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. AOKI manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. AOKI drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says AOKI as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Monsoon screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with AOKI! Nice submission victory there!
