Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kristofir James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Montano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Montano's choice of entrance music: Hells Bells. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montano looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.
James shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Montano pinned against the cage. Montano gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kristofir James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

James throws a right and a left that both miss.
James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Montano tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Montano to the ground. Montano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kristofir James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James throws a right and a left that both miss.
Montano dodges the punch combination from James.
James moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Montano is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. James knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften James for a finish.
James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Montano on the ground.

Montano is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Montano gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Montano gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Montano apologises and we restart here on the feet.
James tries for a takedown but Montano sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
James fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
James shoots for a double leg takedown but Montano sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
James throws a right and a left that Montano avoids nicely.

and Montano counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

James will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Montano fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage.
James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Montano gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Montano breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montano's waist but Montano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side.
Montano misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
James tries to clinch up but Montano circles away and keeps his distance.

Montano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
James shoots in but Montano avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Montano looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
James throws a series of punches but Montano avoids them all with ease.

Montano decides to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
James throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Montano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
James connects with a nice cross there... Montano is looking wobbly and James recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Montano to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - James jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kristofir James!
