Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yancy Malaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean-Louis Andre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yancy Malaki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean-Louis Andre!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malaki lands with a hook. Andre tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Malaki lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Yancy Malaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malaki connects with the punch.
Andre misses with a shot to the body
enabling Malaki to counter with a crisp jab.


Andre is rocked!
Andre fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Malaki manages to avoid it.
Malaki keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Malaki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Andre.
Malaki moves out of range as Andre throws a body kick.
Andre fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Malaki avoids it really well and circles away.
Andre misses the shot to the body.
Andre throws a right and a left that both miss.

Malaki connects with a body shot.
Malaki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Andre's head.
Some wild striking there from Malaki.
Malaki throws a hook but Andre avoids it easily.
Andre tries to clinch but Malaki moves out of range.
Malaki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Malaki misses with a wild combination.
Andre shoots in looking for a takedown. Malaki tries to sprawl out of it but Andre keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Malaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Yancy Malaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean-Louis Andre.
Andre misses with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malaki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Malaki misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Andre.
Malaki stuffs the takedown.
Andre takes a swing at Malaki's ribcage but misses.
No joy there for Malaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Andre looks to score with a jab to the body but Malaki is just out of range.
Yancy Malaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malaki connects with a nice looking jab.
Andre throws a right hand that misses
and Malaki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Malaki scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Andre shoots in and bounces Malaki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Andre trying to control the position from guard on top but Malaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Andre throwing strikes but missing.
Andre trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andre passes Malaki's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Malaki on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Malaki tries to get out of the position.
Malaki wants to improve his position but Andre is controlling well.
Malaki trying to control but Andre postures up.
Andre thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Malaki's head.
Malaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Andre content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Andre is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Malaki has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Andre is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Malaki sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Malaki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Andre has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Malaki keeping moving, preventing Andre from controlling successfully.
Malaki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Andre slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Andre has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malaki is working away from the top position though.
Malaki prevents Andre from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Yancy Malaki will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Malaki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Andre misses with a hook. Malaki ducked under it nicely.
Andre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Malaki as he jumps to the side.
Nice defenses there by Andre.
Malaki fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Andre is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Malaki rather than just go for the knockout.
Andre tries to land a front kick but Malaki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Malaki lands with a hook. Andre tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Malaki scores with a three punch combo!
Andre tries to move into range but Malaki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Malaki connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andre closes the distance and clinches up with Malaki, looking for a takedown. Andre pushes Malaki against the cage but Malaki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Malaki really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Malaki keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Andre is still on wobbly legs! Can Malaki finish him?
Malaki connects with a single shot there.
Malaki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Malaki misses with a series of wild punches.
Andre throws a jab but it's blocked by Malaki.
Malaki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Andre was well out of range. Poor timing from Malaki.
Andre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Andre seems to have recovered his senses.
Yancy Malaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean-Louis Andre.
Malaki tests Andre's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Andre's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Malaki connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Andre scrambles back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malaki clobbers Andre with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Malaki jabs Andre right on the nose. Andre blinks but takes it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Malaki drops Andre with a huge uppercut! Andre drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Malaki is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yancy Malaki!
Yancy Malaki retains his featherweight title!
A relieved looking Yancy Malaki thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
