The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vihervuori fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Vihervuori's jab looks to have found its range, popping Skantze Jr under the eye.

Vihervuori closes the distance and pushes Skantze Jr back into the cage.
Vihervuori slows down the pace here.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Vihervuori.
Skantze Jr trying to control the position but instead, Vihervuori has worked for underhooks and has pushed Skantze Jr into the cage.
Vihervuori is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Vihervuori lands a hook to the side of the head.
Vihervuori digs a right hand into Skantze Jr's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Skantze Jr's gas tank.

Vihervuori ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Vihervuori no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Vihervuori escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Skantze Jr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Skantze Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vihervuori swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vihervuori has an active guard here but Skantze Jr has managed to pass into half guard.
Vihervuori keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Skantze Jr is working for a submission of some sort.

Skantze Jr looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Vihervuori pushes Skantze Jr off looking to stand but Skantze Jr dives back in and keeps control.
Vihervuori wants to improve his position but Skantze Jr is controlling well.

Skantze Jr is trying to work for a kimura but Vihervuori is defending well.

Vihervuori is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Skantze Jr pulls his head out easily.

Vihervuori is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Skantze Jr frees his head nicely. Oh but Vihervuori has switched to an armbar! Skantze Jr is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
