Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luca Caputi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Maglieri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luca Caputi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Maglieri!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caputi tries for a takedown but Maglieri sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Maglieri gets the takedown into side control.
Maglieri advances to full mount.
Caputi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Caputi is working hard here to advance position.
Maglieri seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Caputi is holding on tight.
Caputi can't escape the position.
Maglieri avoids the attempt from Caputi to control.
Caputi working to try and regain half guard.

Maglieri has hold of Caputi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Caputi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Caputi is desperately trying to improve his position but Maglieri has a good base and remains in mount.

Maglieri looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Caputi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Caputi regains half guard.

Maglieri is pressing down on Caputi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Caputi is holding on for now.
Caputi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Caputi.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Caputi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Caputi keeping full guard, as Maglieri tries to pass.

Maglieri thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Maglieri looks gassed!
Caputi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maglieri manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Caputi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Caputi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caputi tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Maglieri stops Caputi from passing to mount.

Caputi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Caputi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Maglieri manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Caputi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maglieri does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Maglieri is pressing down on Caputi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Caputi thows a big elbow that misses.

Caputi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Caputi wants to control from the top but Maglieri keeps moving.
Caputi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maglieri swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Caputi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Caputi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Maglieri is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Caputi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Maglieri won't allow Caputi to pass to mount.

Caputi moves nicely into side control.

Caputi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Caputi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maglieri has escaped the position, nice work there.

Maglieri manages to work his way to half guard, despite Caputi's best efforts.

Caputi throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Caputi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Maglieri knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Maglieri is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Caputi pulls his head out easily.
Maglieri is not content to let Caputi control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Caputi misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chris Maglieri will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Caputi manages to get back to half guard.

Maglieri is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Caputi has managed to free his arm - good work.
Caputi manages to get to full guard.
Caputi looking to control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Caputi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Maglieri manages to get himself to full guard.

Maglieri escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Caputi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Caputi passes into half guard.
Maglieri is looking for a sweep. Caputi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Caputi has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Maglieri defend it? Caputi steps over the head and cranks it - Maglieri is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Caputi!
