PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Connor Rostowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Francisco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Connor Rostowski has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Connor Rostowski seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Connor Rostowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Francisco!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francisco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rostowski.
Francisco misses the shot to the body.
Rostowski lands a really nice looking cross but Francisco seems unphased.
Francisco tries to close the distance and clinch but Rostowski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rostowski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Francisco.
Francisco moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Rostowski works Francisco's body with a nice hook.

Francisco shoots in and bounces Rostowski off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Rostowski looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Rostowski might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Francisco postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Rostowski is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Francisco throws a strike but Rostowski rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Francisco is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rostowski lands a couple of digs.
Francisco keeping moving, preventing Rostowski from controlling successfully.

Francisco has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rostowski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Francisco has his foot on Rostowski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rostowski works his way back into a safe position though.

Francisco is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rostowski rolls with it to try and escape but Francisco cranks on the arm and Rostowski is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
