Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jetrone Lagoc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santos Godino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jetrone Lagoc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Santos Godino!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godino fails with a takedown attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lagoc. Godino does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lagoc avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Godino has managed to clinch.
Godino has Lagoc pressed against the cage, preventing Lagoc from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lagoc is trying to force a seperation but Godino has the dominant position.
Lagoc's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lagoc works the jab nicely.
It looks like Santos Godino has been cut.
Lagoc scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Godino doesn't seem bothered though.
Lagoc thuds a left hand into Godino's body.

Godino misses with a two punch combination.
Lagoc scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Godino takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lagoc will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lagoc ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Lagoc is looking to wear down Godino with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Lagoc fails to land with a series of punches.

Lagoc works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Godino misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lagoc lands a glancing blow to the side of Godino's head.
Lagoc throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Godino stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lagoc throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lagoc dodges the punch combination from Godino.
Godino looks winded!
Lagoc keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lagoc lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Godino sprawling to the canvas. Lagoc follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Godino hang on?
Godino is rocked!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lagoc prevents Godino from improving his position.
Godino is still in real trouble! Can Lagoc finish him?
Lagoc not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Lagoc takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Godino seems to have recovered his senses.
Lagoc seems to be looking for submissions.

Lagoc is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lagoc stalling.
Godino won't allow Lagoc to pass to mount.

Lagoc slows the pace down in half guard.

Lagoc seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We're going to have a standup here because Jetrone Lagoc wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Godino closes the distance but Lagoc moves to the side
and Lagoc counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Godino misses with a looping right.
Godino tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lagoc manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lagoc comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Lagoc misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Lagoc counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Godino's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lagoc connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Godino scrambles back to his feet.
Lagoc dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lagoc goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lagoc misses with the combination.
Lagoc cracks Godino with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jetrone Lagoc dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Santos Godino's cut.
That's time! Lagoc's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Godino misses with a right hand
and Lagoc counters with a two punch combo.
Godino tries to clinch up.
Godino tries to clinch but Lagoc is having none of it.
Oooh a lovely combination from Lagoc sends Godino down but not out. Lagoc dives into side control looking to finish.
That has opened up Santos Godino's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lagoc decides to stand back up. Lagoc steps back and let's Godino get back to his feet.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Lagoc moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Godino! Lagoc continues to tee off on Godino, landing with a left and a right! Lagoc connects with a right hand that leaves Godino sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Lagoc!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jetrone Lagoc!
