The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilks has a takedown stuffed. Dent darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wilks wants to get back to full guard. Wilks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dent 's guard. Marcus Dent has got the better of the ground game so far.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Wilks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Dent is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dent looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wilks trying to control but Dent is working from the bottom. Wilks postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dent is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wilks, into his guard. Wilks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wilks defending against the ground and pound. Wilks is trying to strike from the bottom but Dent has passed into full mount. Dent breaks from Wilks's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Wilks is rocked! Dent lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Oh Wilks is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dent loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Wilks scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Dent land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Dent stands and salutes the crowd.
