Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cain Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Figuera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Slade or perhaps it was just good defense by Figuera which made him look bad.
Slade shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Figuera sprawls well. Figuera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slade gets slowly back to his feet.
Figuera misses with a head kick.
Figuera throws a sloppy head kick and Slade moves out of range easily.
Figuera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slade.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Slade. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Slade has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Figuera.
Figuera pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Figuera clinches up with Slade and pushes him back against the cage.

Slade tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Slade pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Both fighters circling a little - Figuera finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Figuera with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Figuera throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Slade blocks it with crossed arms.
Figuera tries to land knees in the clinch but Slade avoids the damage to the body.
Slade is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Figuera to keep the fight standing.

Slade escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Figuera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Figuera pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A jab lands there for Figuera.
Slade fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Figuera is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Slade.
Nice takedown defense from Figuera. No joy for Slade on that attempt.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Slade shoots in for a takedown but Figuera shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Slade throws the kick towards the body but Figuera avoids it.
Slade looks to land a combination but Figuera avoids it well.

Slade feints and as Figuera raises his hands in defense, Slade changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Figuera wants to stand but Slade is controlling the position.

Slade is standing up over Figuera. Figuera looks to escape but Slade dives into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Figuera is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Slade has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Slade takes a little break here. Figuera wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Figuera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slade. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Figuera is wriggling around trying to escape but Slade has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Figuera taps out and Slade picks up the big win! Great work there by Slade!
