PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henry Six (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henry Six!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Sobral!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Sobral misses.
Six finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Six walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sobral checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Six uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sobral.
Sobral throws an overhand right that lands on Six's shoulder, as Six tries to avoid the shot.
Six takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Six thows a body shot but no joy.
Six on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Six darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sobral is trying to maintain the position but Six is very close to passing his half guard.
Ground and pound from Six.
Six not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Sobral moves into full guard.

Six might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sobral escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Six gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Six connects with a nice short shot to Sobral's temple.

Sobral has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Six is working away from the top position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Julio Sobral showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Sobral has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Julio Sobral decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
