The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miranda stuffs the takedown attempt from Mavroeidis. Mavroeidis gets slowly back to his feet.

Mavroeidis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mavroeidis tries to move to mount but Miranda blocks the move with his legs.
Mavroeidis misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Mavroeidis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Miranda is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mavroeidis's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Mavroeidis trying to control the action but Miranda is working from the bottom.
Mavroeidis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Miranda knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mavroeidis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miranda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Miranda is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mavroeidis's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mavroeidis's back!
Mavroeidis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miranda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Miranda is cranking Mavroeidis's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Mavroeidis! He's tightened the choke and Mavroeidis is tapping out!
