Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lazlo Quintero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braulio Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lazlo Quintero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Braulio Shogun! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quintero fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shogun sprawls well initially but Quintero persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Shogun wants to control but Quintero is keeping busy and won't allow it. Shogun is concentrating on defense, preventing Quintero from advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shogun looks like he's trying to stand up.
Quintero is figuring out what he wants to do next. Quintero wants to get back to his feet.
Shogun wants to control but Quintero is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Braulio Shogun has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Shogun closes the distance looking to clinch and Quintero moves into the clinch. Quintero is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shogun can't fight it off and eventually Quintero manages to take the fight to the floor. Shogun looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quintero preventing the sweep. Quintero wants to pass the guard but Shogun is keeping the position. Shogun wants to control but Quintero passes easily into half guard.
Quintero is looking to take a break and control but Shogun is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Quintero sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Shogun wants to control but Quintero is keeping busy.
Shogun pushes Quintero off looking to stand but Quintero dives back in and keeps control.
Shogun is defending against the submission attempts here by Quintero.
Shogun has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Quintero is working away from the top position though. Shogun is looking for a sweep. Quintero is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shogun wants to control but Quintero is keeping busy.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Braulio Shogun. Quintero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shogun tries to avoid it but Quintero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shogun to the ground. Shogun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Horrible takedown by Quintero or perhaps it was just good defense by Shogun which made him look bad. A combination from Shogun does no damage. Shogun looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Shogun thows a leg kick but Quintero checks it and Quintero counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Quintero. Shogun's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Quintero tries for a takedown but Shogun manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lazlo Quintero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shogun is looking to break free of the clinch but Quintero has double underhooks. Quintero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Quintero slips a straight right by Shogun. Shogun swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Quintero slips under a jab from Shogun. Shogun looks winded! Shogun throws a lazy uppercut
and Quintero makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Quintero has closed the distance and engaged Shogun in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Shogun's face as he tries to break the clinch. Quintero lands an uppercut. Shogun throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Quintero blocks it with crossed arms. Quintero controlling the action here for a moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shogun is trying to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lazlo Quintero dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shogun slaps away a takedown attempt from Quintero, before circling back to the center of the mat. Quintero really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Quintero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shogun tries to clinch but Quintero moves away and Quintero counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Quintero ducks under a wild hook from Shogun. Quintero looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Quintero shoots in and drives through. Shogun sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lazlo Quintero. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quintero closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Quintero controlling the action here. Quintero uses his free foot to push down on Shogun's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shogun.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quintero wants to control but instead Shogun manages to regain half guard. Quintero decides to stand and escape the position. Quintero looks to land a combination but Shogun avoids it well. A head kick misses from Quintero. Quintero circles away from the clinch attempt and Quintero counters with a three punch combo that has Shogun backing up. Shogun nods at Quintero to acknowledge the strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shogun swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Shogun is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Quintero is defending well for now. Shogun stalling in the clinch but Quintero improves position. Shogun tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quintero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Quintero avoids the attempt from Shogun to control. Shogun is desperately trying to improve his position but Quintero has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quintero controlling the position easily from mount. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shogun is wriggling around trying to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Quintero controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quintero seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shogun for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shogun throws a left and a right that both miss
and Quintero counters by moving into the clinch. Shogun using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Quintero blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Quintero manages to break the clinch.
Shogun darts in trying to clinch and Quintero counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Nice uppercut lands for Quintero. That snapped Shogun's head back.
Quintero circles away from the clinch attempt and Quintero counters by moving into the clinch. Shogun tries to land knees in the clinch but Quintero avoids the damage to the body. Shogun breaks the clinch.
Shogun takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shogun ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quintero moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quintero looking to score a takedown here. Shogun is defending well but Quintero drives through and ends up in Shogun's guard. Quintero works over Shogun with some ground and pound from guard. Quintero is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Shogun keeping moving, preventing Quintero from controlling successfully. Quintero looking to pass the guard. Quintero has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Quintero controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Lazlo Quintero just wasn't active enough. Shogun fails in his attempt to clinch. Quintero forces Shogun back against the cage and clinches. Quintero manages to break the clinch.
Quintero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shogun, pushing him back against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Quintero has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shogun avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Quintero has picked Shogun up - he's going for a ride! Quintero dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Quintero thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shogun's head. Shogun wants to control the action here but instead Quintero manages to pass to full mount! Quintero putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shogun is trying desperately to improve position. Quintero connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Quintero with good strikes from the mount here! Quintero pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Quintero is working for a guillotine from mount but Shogun frees his head quite easily.
Shogun is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quintero with good strikes from the mount here! Quintero avoids the attempt from Shogun to control. Quintero lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Shogun hang on? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Quintero content just to control the position here. Shogun tries to improve his position but instead Quintero has taken his back! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good control from Quintero. Braulio Shogun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lazlo Quintero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shogun can't escape the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Lazlo Quintero showed his dominance in that final round. Well Quintero has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
