Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Cat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TAKANORI GOMI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GOMI has chosen Iggy Pop - The Passenger as his entrance music. GOMI has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tom Cat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, TAKANORI GOMI!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cat closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cat lands in his opponent's guard.
GOMI looks gassed!
Cat thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cat in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cat slips nicely into half guard.
Cat is trying to control the action in half guard but GOMI is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
GOMI tries to kick Cat off but Cat keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cat is trying to work for a kimura but GOMI is defending well.
Cat drops an elbow to the side of GOMI's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cat is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cat works his foot free and advances to mount.
GOMI tries to buck Cat off but Cat takes his back!
GOMI is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cat controlling the position well here. GOMI rolled but Cat kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
GOMI really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cat. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cat is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but GOMI has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Cat is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! GOMI is tapping out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tom Cat!
