Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Satoshi Kon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ace Black!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kon tries to keep at a distance but Black has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kon has Black pressed against the cage, preventing Black from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Black tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kon just leaning against Black, taking a breather.

Kon has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Black regains guard immediately.
Black looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Black is trying to control but Kon passes into side control!
A lull in the action here as Kon stalls from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black is looking for a sweep.
Kon controls the position from side control.
Black can't do much from the bottom here.
Black is looking to regain half guard here but Kon keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kon just content to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Satoshi Kon.
Black shoots in and drives through. Kon sprawls well.

Black gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kon is breathing heavily.
Black looking to control.
Black wants to sweep but no luck.

Kon stands and steps away. Black gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Black tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kon is in Black's guard.
Kon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Black works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Black looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kon stands and throws Black's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Black wants to control but Kon postures up.
Kon works to advance to full mount. Black defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Kon lands a big elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kon controlling from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black tries to hold on but Kon pushes him away.
Kon looking to control and managing it successfully.
Black sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black is looking for a sweep. Kon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Satoshi Kon dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Kon misses with a two punch combination.

Kon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Black trying to hold on to Kon's head to control him but Kon postures up.
Kon controlling the action here.
Black pushes Kon off looking to stand but Kon dives back in and keeps control.
Kon is thwarting Black's attempts to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Black tries to get to full guard but Kon has control of the leg.
Kon performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

We're going to have a standup here because Satoshi Kon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Kon scores with a takedown into Black's guard.
Kon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Kon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Black has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kon has managed to get both his arms back between Black's legs - danger averted.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Black is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kon defends well.
Kon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kon gets to his feet. Black looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kon slaps away a takedown attempt from Black, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black shoots in but no luck this time.

Kon clinches up against the cage.

Kon gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Black regains guard.
Black trying to strike off his back.
Kon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Black is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Satoshi Kon wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Kon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kon off to one side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Black looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Black was covering up waiting for the punch and Kon finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Black is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Satoshi Kon dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Black doesn't manage to clinch there - Kon circles away.
Kon shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Black as he jumps to the side.
Black will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Black tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Satoshi Kon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown by Black or perhaps it was just good defense by Kon which made him look bad.
Kon throws a series of punches but Black moves out of range.
Kon doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Black counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Black wants to control from the top but Kon keeps moving.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kon looking for a guillotine here but Black defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Kon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Black pushes down on Kon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kon is staying active underneath Black, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kon is pressing down on Black's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Black wants to control from the top but Kon keeps moving.
Black stopping the sweep attempt from Kon.

Ace Black has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Black doesn't manage to clinch there - Kon circles away.
Black wants to clinch but Kon slips to the side
and Kon counters with a one-two to the body.
Black tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Black closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kon did well to prevent Black getting side control.
Satoshi Kon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Black is trying to control the action in half guard but Kon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Black is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kon lands a couple of sideways elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Black looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Black tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Black wants to stand but Kon has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ace Black comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
