Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Levi Gene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cid Highwind (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gene falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Highwind to counter with a crisp jab.
Gene throws a hook but Highwind avoids it easily.
Highwind displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gene throws out the jab.
Gene throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gene with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Gene misses with a right hand
letting Highwind counter with a right hand.
Gene swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Highwind counters with a left and a right that stings Gene.
Gene lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Cid Highwind has been cut.
Highwind jabs Gene right on the nose. Gene blinks but takes it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gene swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Highwind on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gene. Gene obviously looking to wear him down.
Gene moves away from the strike by Highwind.
Gene fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Highwind to the ground. Gene is now in Highwind's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Highwind wants to stand and escape but Gene is having none of it.
Gene has gone for a leg lock! Highwind slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gene's guard.
Highwind wants to get up but he can't break Gene's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gene lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Highwind!
Gene lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gene lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Highwind hang on?
Gene lands a big elbow.
Highwind is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gene looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Highwind covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
