PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Beaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Mario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beaver comes to the ring accompanied by mind of a maniac. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mario tries to clinch but Beaver moves away
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Mario with a poor takedown
and Beaver counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mario thinking.

Mario decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Beaver is looking for a sweep. Mario is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mario is trying to control the action in half guard but Beaver is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mario blocks the strikes from Beaver.
Beaver moves into full guard.
Beaver with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Mario can't handle though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mario drops back looking for a leg! Beaver is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Beaver manages to kick Mario off! Mario jumps back into Beaver's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beaver throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Beaver wants to sweep here but Mario controlling him for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Carlos Mario wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Beaver counters with a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Matthew Beaver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Mario.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Beaver holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Mario is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Beaver has clasped his hands together around Mario's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Beaver scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Mario is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Beaver can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
