Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pascal Kraus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Morrison! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kraus throws a series of punches but Morrison moves out of range. Kraus throws a predictable looking body shot
and Morrison counters with a shoot takedown. Kraus fights it but they end up in guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Morrison preventing the sweep. Kraus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Morrison is controlling him. Morrison lands a couple of digs. Kraus keeping moving, preventing Morrison from controlling successfully. Morrison is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kraus holds on and takes a little breather. Morrison advances position into side control! Morrison is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kraus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kraus throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morrison moves into full mount! Morrison wants to stand but Kraus is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Kraus regains half guard. Kraus trying to control here.
Kraus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Morrison. Morrison throwing shots but Kraus is blocking nicely. Kraus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Morrison wants to take a breather but Kraus is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morrison might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kraus haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kraus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kraus tries to get out of the position. Morrison thows a huge punch but Kraus dodges it nicely.
Kraus is looking to control Morrison's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kraus avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kraus is trying to stand.
Morrison is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kraus is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sid Morrison! After winning the bout, Sid Morrison thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
