Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between NaKai Mariner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kingston King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, NaKai Mariner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kingston King!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mariner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab.
Mariner misses with a kick to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from King misses the target.
Mariner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mariner.
Mariner tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mariner throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

King gets in close and instigates a clinch.
King has Mariner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mariner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
King tries for a takedown but Mariner manages to get underhooks.
Mariner keeps control of King as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
King is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mariner gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
NaKai Mariner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kingston King.
King is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mariner is defending well.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, King just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mariner's brow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King wants to take the fight to the mat but Mariner manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mariner looks to throw an elbow but misses.

King drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
King looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
King is looking to stand up but Mariner isn't so interested in that idea.
Mariner trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mariner is fighting to break King's control of his arms but King is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kingston King wasn't active enough on the ground.
King avoids a punch combination nicely.
King keeps the fight on the outside.

Mariner darts in and clinches King up against the cage.

Mariner breaks from the clinch.
Mariner shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
Some wild striking there from Mariner.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mariner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mariner doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.
King thuds his right hand into Mariner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mariner fails to land the takedown.
Mariner throws a left and a right that both miss
and King counters with a stiff right hand.
Mariner is breathing heavily.
Mariner misses with a series of wild punches.
Mariner swinging wildly here.
Mariner doesn't succeed with the takedown

and King counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mariner's guard now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
King controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
King advances to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
King passes to full mount!

King is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Mariner is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Mariner flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. King anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Mariner and secures both hooks! This could be bad! King slips an arm under Mariner chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. King has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. King is squeezing on Mariner like an anaconda would it's prey. Mariner fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kingston King!
