The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Campbell lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Alex Campbell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
MMA misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Campbell.
Campbell tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Campbell just misses with a elbow thrown towards MMA's brow.

Campbell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MMA gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
MMA lands a couple of digs.
MMA with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Campbell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. MMA manages to get himself to full guard.
MMA really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Campbell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

MMA wants to sweep here but Campbell controlling him for the moment.
Campbell postures up in MMA's guard and throws a big left but MMA blocks it.

Campbell passes MMA's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Campbell connects with a nice short shot to MMA's temple.

Campbell tries to pass the half guard into mount. MMA knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Campbell moves into full mount! MMA won't be happy about that!
Poor strikes thrown by Campbell there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Campbell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
