PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Moxon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drago Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kozlov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Back in the USSR kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Jonathan Moxon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drago Kozlov!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moxon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Moxon on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kozlov. Kozlov obviously looking to wear him down.
Kozlov slips a straight right by Moxon.
Moxon takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kozlov fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Moxon has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Moxon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kozlov wants to control but Moxon is keeping busy.

Moxon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Moxon misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Moxon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kozlov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Moxon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kozlov is now in Moxon's guard. A big mistake from Moxon there, giving up the dominant position!

and Kozlov counters with a good, hard body kick but Moxon shrugs it off.
Moxon throws a body punch but Kozlov moves out of range.

and Kozlov cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Moxon throws a looping overhand right but Kozlov ducks down to avoid it.
Moxon throws out a leg kick but Kozlov moves out of range and Moxon only half commits.
Kozlov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Moxon.
Kozlov throws a head kick but Moxon moves out of range.
Kozlov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
An inside leg kick from Moxon misses.
Moxon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kozlov manages to avoid it.
Kozlov misses the jab.
Moxon throws a leg kick that misses.
Moxon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kozlov pinned against the cage. Kozlov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kozlov moves out of range of the strikes.

Kozlov dives in and scores a takedown into Moxon's guard.

Kozlov is sitting in close to Moxon's body. Moxon has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kozlov is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kozlov is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Moxon.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jonathan Moxon!
Our winner, Jonathan Moxon, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Drago Kozlov spoke after the fight, saying 'As always I can do everything through Christ my lord and savior who strengthens me. Without him I wouldn't be here tonight. Don't worry I'll be back.'.
