Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Serafin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Serafin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serafin throws a head kick that misses.
Serafin shoots for a takedown but Gates saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gates slaps away a takedown attempt from Serafin, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Serafin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gates has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Serafin has managed to get both his arms back between Gates's legs - danger averted.

Gates is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Serafin can't fight it off and eventually Gates manages to take the fight to the floor. Serafin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Serafin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Serafin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gates tries to avoid it but Serafin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gates to the ground. Gates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Daniel Serafin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gates wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Serafin, who protects the arm well.
