The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepel throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bangs.
Bangs fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bangs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shepel to the mat! Shepel manages to get full guard.
Shepel scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Shepel throws a nice inside leg kick.
Shepel connects with a leg kick. Bangs looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Bangs gets a double leg takedown into Shepel's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bangs won't allow Shepel to get back to his feet.
Bangs passes into half guard.
Shepel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bangs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bangs wants to pass the guard but Shepel is defending well.
Bangs moves into full mount! Shepel won't be happy about that!
Shepel is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Bangs quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Bangs but it's paid off an Shepel is forced to tap! Nice work by Bangs.
