Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Absolom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Kershaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Absolom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Kershaw! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kershaw moves to clinch but Absolom breaks away and Absolom counters with a good low kick that Kershaw was not able to check. Kershaw throws an off balance right hand
and Absolom counters with a head kick. Absolom stuffs the takedown. A head kick by Kershaw misses and Absolom holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kershaw taking a breather. Absolom lands an elbow inside.
It looks like James Kershaw has been cut. Absolom landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Kershaw looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Absolom has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kershaw avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Absolom gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kershaw.
Absolom's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Absolom lands an elbow inside. Absolom tries for a takedown but Kershaw manages to get underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Absolom crunches a lovely knee into Kershaw's ribcage. Absolom lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Absolom lands an elbow inside. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Kershaw takes an elbow to the temple. Absolom creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kershaw's defenses. Absolom putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Kershaw in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. A nice glancing elbow lands by Absolom. Absolom's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Absolom drops Kershaw with a beautiful combination! Kershaw stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Absolom is looking for the KO!
Kershaw is rocked! Absolom clinches. Kershaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Absolom finish him? A nice glancing elbow lands by Absolom. Absolom escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Absolom or perhaps it was just good defense by Kershaw which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Absolom. That's going to take a lot out of him. Absolom connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kershaw seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Absolom gets in close and instigates a clinch. Absolom taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Kershaw drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Absolom pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kershaw tries to clinch but Absolom moves away and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Absolom closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kershaw circles away. Good leg kick by Absolom there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Absolom dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kershaw. That did some damage! Absolom goes for a high kick. It partially lands. A lazy left from Absolom finds it's target. Absolom's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Absolom duly obliges.

Kershaw tries to clinch but fails miserably and Absolom counters with a good, hard body kick but Kershaw shrugs it off. Absolom avoids the head kick by Kershaw.
Absolom circles away from the clinch attempt and Absolom counters with an inside leg kick. Kershaw sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Absolom throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kershaw connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kershaw swings for the body but Absolom moves out of range.
Kershaw tries to clinch but fails miserably and Absolom counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kershaw lands a nice shot that snaps Absolom's head back.
Absolom throws a quick inside leg kick. Kershaw closes the distance looking to clinch and Absolom counters with a big head kick but Kershaw shrugs it off. Absolom throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kershaw shoots in and drives through. Absolom sprawls well. Absolom misses with a series of wild punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kershaw doesn't manage to clinch there - Absolom circles away.

Sam Absolom dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Kershaw's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A slow jab from Kershaw misses its intended target. Sam Absolom is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Absolom circles away from the clinch attempt and Absolom counters with a leg kick. Absolom fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kershaw has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. James Kershaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kershaw wants to clinch but Absolom slips to the side and Absolom counters with a crisp one two that drops Kershaw! Absolom thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kershaw to his feet! Kershaw is in big trouble! This has been an exciting period of action! Absolom clinches up with Kershaw and pushes him back against the cage. Kershaw tries for a takedown. No joy.
Absolom utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Kershaw's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Absolom breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Absolom lands a leg kick that knocks Kershaw off balance momentarily. Sam Absolom is winning the standup battle so far. Nice takedown defense from Kershaw. No joy for Absolom on that attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Absolom cracks the inside of Kershaw's front leg. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kershaw takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Absolom is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kershaw can do to turn this around? Absolom has managed to clinch.
Absolom has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kershaw uses from the top position. Kershaw drops back, looking for a kneebar! Absolom looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Absolom looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Absolom! Kershaw tries to get back to half guard but can't. Absolom stands up. Absolom fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kershaw on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Absolom misses with a double jab.
Absolom throws a leg kick which misses Kershaw's front leg but catches the back leg as Kershaw tries to avoid it. Absolom throws a head kick but Kershaw moves out of range.

Absolom lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kershaw's sensitive parts. Kershaw misses the jab. Kershaw shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Absolom sprawls well. Absolom wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kershaw gets slowly back to his feet.

Absolom will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Kershaw up against the cage.

Kershaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kershaw tries to clinch but Absolom is having none of it. Absolom connects with a leg kick. Kershaw looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Kershaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kershaw shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Absolom defends it nicely. Absolom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Absolom. That's going to take a lot out of him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Absolom has a takedown stuffed. Sam Absolom is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A lazy body kick from Kershaw and Absolom counters with a good low kick that Kershaw was not able to check.
And that's the end of the fight! Sam Absolom showed his dominance in that final round. Well Absolom has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
