Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Wigley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Paul Fish! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish tries to close the distance and clinch but Wigley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fish tries to sprawl but Wigley drives through with a takedown into half guard. Fish is trying to maintain the position but Wigley is very close to passing his half guard. Wigley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fish keeps working. Wigley has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Wigley looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wigley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wigley looking to control but Fish is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Fish is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wigley controlling his opponent. Wigley raining down hammerfists from mount. Wigley looking to control but Fish is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wigley breaks from Fish's wrist control and lands an elbow. Wigley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wigley lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Fish sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fish is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wigley wants to pass to mount but Fish is defending the position. Wigley not doing much here.
Fish looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fish wants to control but Wigley is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wigley decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Wigley darts in and clinches Fish up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fish is trying to stall.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Fish stalling in the clinch.
Wigley manages to pull guard.
Wigley tries to strike from the bottom.
Wigley is pulling down on Fish's head. It's preventing any offense from Fish, at least for the moment. Wigley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wigley striking off his back but it's not causing Fish any problems. Wigley pulls Fish in close to prevent any damage. Wigley controls Fish momentarily but Fish frees himself. Fish stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wigley swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fish advances to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wigley wants to get back to full guard. Wigley makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wigley. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Wigley dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Fish fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fish gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Fish wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wigley has him pressed against the cage. Fish misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wigley.
Wigley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wigley has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Fish is trying to keep an underhook but Wigley manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wigley works his foot free and advances to mount. Wigley sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jack Wigley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fish is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wigley has hold of Fish's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fish manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wigley avoids the attempt from Fish to control. Wigley controlling the pace for now. Fish wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wigley raining down shots from the mount! Wigley lands a big shot there that rocks Fish but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fish is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Wigley putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! This has been an exciting period of action! Fish is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Fish is breathing heavily. Wigley controlling his opponent. Wigley is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Fish can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Wigley connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wigley lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Wigley controlling from the full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wigley connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Wigley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wigley wants to control the pace but Fish is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wigley wants to finish this one by submission but Fish is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wigley. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fish is in a horrible position here. Wigley smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Wigley with the ground and pound from mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wigley landing shots from mount. Wigley controlling from the full mount. Wigley lands a heavy elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Wigley dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Horrible takedown by Fish or perhaps it was just good defense by Wigley which made him look bad. Wigley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fish can do to turn this around? Fish has his takedown stuffed and Wigley counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wigley. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Fish is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wigley gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jack Wigley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Paul Fish. Wigley breaks from the clinch.
Fish displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wigley. Horrible takedown by Fish or perhaps it was just good defense by Wigley which made him look bad. Wigley has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fish takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fish goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Wigley misses with an elbow over the top. Wigley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A bone on bone clash there as Wigley blocks the leg kick.
Wigley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wigley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fish on his heels. He'll look to pass Fish's guard now, I'm sure. Wigley gets to his feet - Fish follows without any prompting. Fish tries to clinch up. Wigley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wigley throws a head kick that Fish semi-blocks.
Fish checks a leg kick. Jon Paul Fish has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wigley clinches up against the cage. Fish is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wigley to keep the fight standing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fish tries a knee to the head but Wigley blocks it.

Wigley dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fish. That did some damage! Wigley drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wigley is stalling in the full guard. Fish preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fish looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wigley passes into side control.
Wigley staying calm. Wigley stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wigley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fish! Wigley in side control lands a decent elbow. Wigley just content to control the position. Wigley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jack Wigley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fish throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Wigley showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wigley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
