The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monteiro throws a lazy body kick

and Vorhees counters by moving into the clinch.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Freddie Vorhees.

Monteiro is trying to control the action in half guard but Vorhees is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Monteiro has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vorhees regains guard immediately.

Vorhees stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Monteiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vorhees gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Monteiro has had enough of the clinch but Vorhees keeps him there for the moment.

Monteiro has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vorhees clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

That was a close second round but I would say that Carlos Monteiro will probably get the nod.

Monteiro shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vorhees's guard.

Monteiro stands and steps away. Vorhees gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
