Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mohammed Babak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Wildman! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babak throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wildman. A lazy left from Babak finds it's target. A punch combination from Babak misses. Crunch! Babak slams his shin into Wildman's torso. Wildman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Babak misses with the combination.
Babak goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Wildman avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wildman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Babak as he jumps to the side. Wildman shoots for a double leg takedown but Babak sprawls well. He's pushed Wildman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mohammed Babak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Wildman. Wildman has a takedown stuffed. Jab, jab by Babak - just one landing. Babak fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babak displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wildman. A head kick misses from Babak. Babak slaps away a takedown attempt from Wildman, before circling back to the center of the mat. Babak misses with the combination.
Babak throws a head kick but Wildman moves out of range.
Babak feints a jab promting Wildman to slip. Babak then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Wildman slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Babak connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wildman momentarily.

Wildman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Babak as he avoids it easily. Wildman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Babak defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wildman.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babak throws a head kick that misses. Babak stuffs the takedown. Babak connects with a jab. Mohammed Babak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No joy there for Babak, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Babak tries to bum rush Wildman with a series of wild strikes but Wildman uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Babak thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Wildman if he has to take too many more of those.
Wildman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wildman is looking for a kimura but Babak is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wildman to get the leverage. Wildman looks winded! Babak is concentrating on defense, preventing Wildman from advancing position. Wildman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Babak keeps working. Babak is trying to stand up here but Wildman is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babak is trying to get back to full guard. Babak wants to control but Wildman is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wildman missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Babak wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wildman is trying to control the action in half guard but Babak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Babak is looking to improve his position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Babak lands a right hook to the body.

and Wildman counters with a single leg into guard. Babak didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Babak tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Wildman prevents Babak from getting back to his feet. Wildman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wildman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wildman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Babak sprawls well. Babak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wildman gets slowly back to his feet. A slapping body kick lands there for Babak. Babak throws a sloppy head kick and Wildman moves out of range easily. Babak throws a head kick but Wildman moves out of range.
Babak pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wildman back to the cage. Babak follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Mohammed Babak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Babak scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Wildman misses with a takedown and Babak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Babak falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wildman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wildman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Babak keeps working. Babak is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wildman is keen to just control but Babak is a slippery customer. Wildman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Babak is refusing to be controlled, as Wildman sits in half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Wildman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Babak sees it coming and defends easily. Wildman trying to control the action but Babak is working from the bottom. Babak trying to control here.
Babak tries to kick Wildman off but Wildman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babak is staying active underneath Wildman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Chris Wildman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Babak throws a right and a left that both miss. Mohammed Babak is winning the standup battle so far. Babak misses with a jab, cross combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wildman is defended easily by Babak. Babak tries a head kick but it misses.

Babak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Babak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Babak throws a right and a left that Wildman avoids nicely. Wildman shoots for a double leg takedown but Babak sprawls well. He's pushed Wildman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Babak buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Wildman shoots in for a double leg but Babak sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. No luck with that takedown attempt from Wildman. Babak cracks Wildman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Babak plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Donk. Babak catches Wildman right on the button with a cross. Babak scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. This has been an exciting period of action! Babak lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Wildman sprawling to the canvas. Babak follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Wildman hang on?
Wildman is rocked! Babak is working for a kimura but Wildman is defending it quite comfortably.
Wildman is still in real trouble! Can Babak finish him? Babak wants to stand up but Wildman has a hold of him and won't allow it. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wildman seems to have recovered his senses. Wildman tries to roll over but Babak keeps him under control. Wildman is trying to stand back up but Babak is controlling him

Babak is thwarting Wildman's attempts to control the position. Babak is looking to take a break and control but Wildman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wildman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Babak pulls his head out easily.

Babak looking to control but instead Wildman has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Wildman lands a couple of sideways elbows. Chris Wildman has got the better of the ground game so far. Babak performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Wildman trying to hold on to Babak's head to control him but Babak postures up.

And that's the end of the fight! Mohammed Babak showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Babak, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
