Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Crump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Earls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crump comes to the cage accompanied by Disturbed- Down with the Sickness. Earls has chosen Tommy Gun as his entrance music. Nick Earls acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, William Crump!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Earls!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick lands from Crump that sends Earls to the canvas. Earls tries to scramble back to his feet but Crump brings him back down into side control.


Earls is rocked!


It looks like Nick Earls has been cut.
Earls is trying to get back to half guard.
Earls is still in real trouble! Can Crump finish him?
Earls seems to have recovered his senses.
Earls tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Crump presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Earls is trying desperately to improve position.
Crump with the ground and pound from mount.
Earls bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Earls trying to move into half guard but instead Crump has managed to sweep!
Earls tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Earls is on top in guard.

Earls throws and elbow that misses. Crump uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Earls's guard. Nice move by Crump!
Crump wants to stand but Earls has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Earls looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Crump has picked Earls up and slammed him! Earls can't keep hold of the triangle and Crump manages to pass to side control!
Earls tries to bench press Crump off him but Crump keeps the position.
Crump advances to mount.
Earls looks gassed!
Crump looking to control and managing it successfully.
Earls really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

A nice elbow there by Crump.
Earls is working to get back to half guard.
Crump sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Crump has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Earls is in all sorts of trouble here.
Earls is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Earls manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Earls wants to get back to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Earls moves into full guard.
Crump preventing the sweep.

Earls throws a sloppy head kick and Crump moves out of range easily.

Earls swings away with a body shot that misses

Crump prevents the takedown attempt.

Crump manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crump jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
A right-left combo lands from Crump.
Crump chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Crump lands with a nice combination. Earls backs away looking to recover.
Crump lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crump thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Earls if he has to take too many more of those.
Crump fails to land with a series of punches.
Crump looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Earls tries for a takedown but Crump circles away easily

and Crump counters with a head kick that drops Earls!


That has opened up Nick Earls's cut even more.
Crump stays in close to Earls's body and controls the position.
Crump trying to stand up but can't free himself from Earls's guard.
Crump controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Crump chips away with some ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Earls looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Crump passes into side control.
Earls is being controlled here.
Crump creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Earls sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Crump slows the pace down.
Earls tries to buck Crump off but Crump is having none of it.
Earls is trying to work for a sweep but Crump has mounted him!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Crump looking to control and managing it successfully.
Earls slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Earls is wriggling around trying to escape.
Earls should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Crump takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Crump tries a head kick but it misses.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Crump rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Earls moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Crump avoids the body shot from Earls.
The fighters circling - Earls throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Earls shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crump but Crump pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Earls swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Crump has taken the fight to the clinch.
Crump connects with a knee to the head.
A shot in the inside from Earls.
Crump throws an elbow but it misses.
Earls is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Earls avoids the elbow strike from Crump, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Earls's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Crump misses with an elbow over the top.
Earls takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Crump with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Crump unloads a knee to the mid-section. Earls lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Earls is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Crump gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
William Crump has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Earls.
Crump lands a body shot in the clinch.

Crump breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Earls takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Crump throws a sloppy head kick and Earls moves out of range easily.
Crump misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Crump lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Earls closes the distance and clinches up with Crump, looking for a takedown. Earls pushes Crump against the cage but Crump circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Earls swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Crump counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Crump.

Crump breaks the clinch.
Nick Earls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crump scores with a sloppy right hand. Earls should have avoided that one.
Earls fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Crump goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Crump with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
William Crump is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Crump throws a right and a left that both miss.

Earls shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crump tries to hold on but Earls pushes him away.
Crump stops Earls from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Earls jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Crump is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Crump and Earls has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Earls thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Earls swings around for an armbar but Crump sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Earls's guard.

Crump gets to his feet. Earls looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Crump lands a right hook to the body.
Crump misses with an uppercut. Earls saw that one coming.
Crump dodges the punch combination from Earls.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Earls scores with a hook.
Crump avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Earls scores with a takedown into Crump's guard.
Earls trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Earls stops Crump from standing up.
Earls pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crump is keeping the position for now.

Crump has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Earls can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Earls passes into half guard.
Nick Earls has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Crump wants to get back to his feet.
William Crump overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Earls is looking for a kimura here.
Crump wants to improve his position but Earls is controlling well.
Crump avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Earls.
