Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dogg Smurf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Karl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dogg Smurf! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Duke Karl! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smurf has a takedown stuffed. Karl cracks Smurf with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Dogg Smurf has been cut. Karl avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick misses from Karl. Smurf is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Smurf with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Smurf closes the distance and clinches. Smurf tries for a takedown. No joy.
Smurf breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Karl blocks a low kick nicely. Karl looks to land a body kick but Smurf moved away. Smurf tries to clinch there but Karl circles away.
Karl throws a leg kick that is checked and Smurf counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Karl is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Smurf has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Smurf is looking to stand up but Karl won't let him. Smurf is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karl avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karl is controlling Smurf's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Smurf pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Karl is keeping the position for now. Smurf working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Smurf trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Karl is pulling down on Smurf's head. It's preventing any offense from Smurf, at least for the moment. Karl is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Karl moves nicely into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smurf is looking to get back to his feet here but Karl is keeping cool and he's managed to take Smurf's back. Karl is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Smurf. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. A bit of a pause in the action here. Karl controlling the positon. Smurf knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karl on the ground. Karl lands strikes to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Duke Karl just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smurf throws a low kick, looking for Karl's leg but Karl calmly moves out of range. Smurf rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Karl moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Karl throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smurf on the side of the head. Karl lands with a nice body kick. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Karl is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Duke Karl dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dogg Smurf's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Karl will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Karl lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smurf looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Smurf throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Karl counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smurf thinking. Karl feints and as Smurf raises his hands in defense, Karl changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Karl is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Karl postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Karl showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smurf looking for a sweep. Not yet Smurf, not yet. Karl is working Smurf over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Smurf has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Karl has passed into side control.
Karl has hold of Smurf's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Smurf tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Karl cranks the arm and Smurf screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Smurf, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Duke Karl!
