Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derfel Cadarn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Stepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stepp fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cadarn, pushing him back against the cage.

Cadarn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cadarn misses with a wild body shot.
Stepp takes a head kick and keeps coming.

It looks like Mark Stepp has been cut.
Cadarn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stepp tries to clinch there but Cadarn circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Stepp tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fight stays on the outside here - Stepp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stepp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cadarn paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stepp wants to clinch up but Cadarn keeps it at a distance.

Stepp pushes Cadarn up against the cage in a clinch.
Stepp prevents Cadarn from breaking the clinch.

Stepp is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Cadarn has had enough of the clinch but Stepp keeps him there for the moment.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Cadarn! Stepp is out on his feet! Cadarn rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Stepp is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Stepp is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
