Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aj Smith! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Little Rusky! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rusky wants to sweep but no luck. Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Smith is working Rusky over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Smith lands a couple of digs. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Smith is pushing down on Rusky's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rusky is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through. Rusky tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control. Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Smith performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Rusky is trying to get back to full guard. Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rusky with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Smith works his foot free and advances to mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith punishing his opponent with strikes. Smith lands a couple of good shots and Rusky has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Rusky tries to escape but Smith has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Rusky really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smith has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Rusky's body.
Rusky is really stuck here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Smith.
Smith cracks Rusky with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Rusky from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Rusky is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Smith is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Rusky is tapping out! This one is all over!
