Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy The Duke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and OmerO Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy The Duke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, OmerO Thompson! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Duke showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Thompson.
Thompson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The Duke really is a fat lump. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Duke is on top in guard.
Thompson tries to land a sweep but no joy. The Duke trying to control the position from guard on top but Thompson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The Duke is looking to stand up but Thompson won't let him. The Duke trying to control the position from guard on top but Thompson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thompson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from The Duke.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Tommy The Duke wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. The Duke stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and The Duke wants it to stay on the feet. Thompson leaves The Duke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Thompson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Tommy The Duke has been cut. Thompson dives in and grabs The Duke's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Duke pushes down on Thompson's head and hops out. The Duke moves into range and clinches up with Thompson. Thompson wants a takedown.
Tommy The Duke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of OmerO Thompson. The Duke tries to circle away but Thompson has him pinned against the cage. Thompson cracks The Duke with a nice body shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thompson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but The Duke pulls him back up using the underhooks. Thompson goes for a takedown in the clinch but The Duke prevents it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Duke is trying to push Thompson away but Thompson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. The Duke stops a takedown attempt from Thompson.
Thompson looks winded! The Duke misses with a punch to the body.
The Duke is pressed up against the cage. Thompson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Duke down to the mat. The Duke avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. The Duke looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The Duke is looking to take a break and control but Thompson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The Duke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Duke trying to control from half guard but Thompson is working away. The Duke is really struggling to control Thompson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tommy The Duke wasn't doing enough on the ground. The Duke scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The Duke wants to pass the guard but Thompson is defending well. The Duke wants to control but Thompson is keeping him busy. The Duke is stalling here. Thompson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! The Duke seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Thompson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The Duke takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thompson wants to control but The Duke is keeping him busy. The Duke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The Duke is trying to control Thompson's posture but Thompson avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tommy The Duke will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Tommy The Duke's cut. That's time! The Duke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
The Duke gets caught flat footed, as Thompson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Thompson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The Duke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thompson is one step ahead there. The Duke is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Thompson has his hands clasped together but The Duke extends and breaks Thompson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by The Duke.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tommy The Duke!
