The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hartley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carver, pushing him back against the ropes. Hartley manages to pull guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Hartley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hartley looking for a sweep. Not yet Hartley, not yet. Carver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hartley is looking for a triangle but Carver pushes his legs off easily.
Hartley pulls Carver in close to prevent any damage. Carver looking to sit in guard and control but Hartley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hartley loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hartley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hartley throwing strikes but missing. Carver working a defensive guard here.
Hartley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hartley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Hartley is looking to work some ground and pound but Carver has wrist control. Hartley trying to control but Carver is working from the bottom. Carver can't keep his opponent in guard - Hartley advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hartley wants to free his trapped foot but Carver is holding on for dear life with his legs. Hartley passes to side control. Carver is trying to control Hartley's posture but Hartley avoids it. Hartley tries to score with some ground and pound. Carver controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Carver is being controlled here. Hartley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carver is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Carver managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hartley.
Hartley looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Carver is avoiding damage well.
Hartley lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carver down.
Hartley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Hartley misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hartley in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Hartley goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carver rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hartley's guard! Nice work there by Carver!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hartley keeping moving, preventing Carver from controlling successfully. Hartley wants to stand but Carver is controlling the position. Carver looking to pass the guard. Carver passes Hartley's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hartley is trying to control but can't.
Hartley is pressing down on Carver's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carver looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hartley attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Carver doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hartley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hartley. Hartley throws a big elbow that misses. Hartley tries to free his leg and advance position but Carver is retaining full guard. Hartley wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving. Hartley trying to move into half guard but instead Carver has managed to sweep! Hartley looking for a sweep. Not yet Hartley, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carver wants to stand but Hartley is controlling his posture from full guard. Hartley tries to strike from the bottom.
Carver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hartley swivels though and keeps the full guard. Andrew Hartley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hartley controlling Carver's posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Andrew Hartley wasn't doing enough on the ground. Carver blocks a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hartley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Carver to the ground. Hartley is now in Carver's guard. Carver trying to keep a closed guard but Hartley is proving a slippery customer.
Hartley wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving. Hartley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hartley stands up over Carver, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hartley with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hartley landing with the ground and pound. Hartley wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Hartley throwing strikes from guard but Carver blocks nicely. Hartley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hartley scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hartley is one step ahead there. Carver keeping full guard, as Hartley tries to pass. Hartley wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving. Hartley is looking to advance position but Carver has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hartley keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Hartley dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Carver gets caught napping as Hartley dives in and scores a takedown. Carver manages to retain guard. Hartley stands up over Carver, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hartley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carver's guard. Hartley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hartley trying to control the action but Carver is working from the bottom. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hartley connects with a nice short shot to Carver's temple. Hartley trying to control from Carver's half guard. Carver has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Hartley tries to stand but Carver is controlling from the bottom.

Hartley slips nicely into half guard. Carver is staying active underneath Hartley, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hartley tries to pass to full mount but Carver defends it. Hartley is trying to control. Carver wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hartley thows a huge punch but Carver dodges it nicely.
Carver blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hartley. Hartley scoring with strikes to the body and head. Hartley looks to land a strike but Carver avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Hartley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carver swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hartley wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving. Carver not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carver manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hartley manages to get himself to full guard.
Carver takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carver trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hartley's guard. Hartley has an active guard here but Carver has managed to pass into half guard.
Hartley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Carver won't allow Hartley to sweep him here. Hartley controls Carver momentarily but Carver frees himself. Carver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hartley swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hartley throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Andrew Hartley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Carver trying to control but Hartley is working from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hartley sprawls well. Hartley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carver gets slowly back to his feet. Andrew Hartley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carver wants to clinch. Jesse Carver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hartley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carver's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Andrew Hartley showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hartley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
