Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alaskan Salmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mauricio rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alaskan Salmon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, mauricio rua!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
rua gets in close and instigates a clinch.
rua jumps into guard, dragging Salmon to the mat.
rua keeping moving, preventing Salmon from controlling successfully.
rua is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salmon prevents rua from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salmon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but rua moves away.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
and rua counters with a shoot takedown. Salmon fights it but they end up in guard.

Salmon has his foot on rua's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. rua works his way back into a safe position though.
rua must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close round but I would say that Alaskan Salmon will probably get the nod.

rua shoots in for a double leg but Salmon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Salmon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alaskan Salmon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
rua throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

rua has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Salmon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
rua has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Salmon's body.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Salmon manages to reverse the position and now he's in rua's guard. Nice work there by Salmon.

and rua counters with a nice double leg into side control. Salmon won't be happy with that.
Salmon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but rua wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

rua drops back, looking for a kneebar! Salmon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Salmon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Salmon!

rua has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Salmon tries to bum rush rua with a series of wild strikes but rua uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A jab-cross combination lands for Salmon and sends rua crashing to the mat! Salmon follows him down to the mat - rua regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
