The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poletto throws a head kick that misses. Peri moves out of range as Poletto throws a body kick.

It looks like Adam Peri has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Poletto connects with a leg kick. Peri looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Peri fails with the takedown. Sandro Poletto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick misses from Poletto. Peri is trying desperately to land a takedown but Poletto is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Peri. Poletto misses with a head kick.

Peri seems to have recovered his senses. Peri shoots in but no luck this time. Poletto rushes Peri and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Poletto gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Peri is looking to take this one to the mat. Poletto breaks the clinch.
Peri feints a jab promting Poletto to slip. Peri then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Poletto slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Poletto delivers a nice body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poletto with a body punch. A glancing blow. Poletto shoots in and gets a takedown into Peri's guard. Peri looking for a sweep. Not yet Peri, not yet. Peri looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Poletto wanted to stand there but Peri had control of the position. Poletto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peri has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Poletto has managed to get both his arms back between Peri's legs - danger averted. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Poletto engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Peri is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Poletto is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Poletto is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Peri has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Poletto doesn't defend quickly enough and Peri has managed to lock this one up! Can Poletto escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Peri on a fantastic submission victory.
