Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Defer Taite! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lenzi Tapera! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taite rushes Tapera and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. I was talking to Taite's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Tapera has Taite pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Taite manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Taite scores with a shot to the side of Tapera's head.
It looks like Lenzi Tapera has been cut. Taite scores with a shoulder strike. A nice left hand lands by Taite.
Taite scores with an uppercut up the middle. Taite cracks Tapera with a nice body shot. Taite lands a right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Taite lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short right hand to the side of the head by Taite.
Tapera is rocked! Taite lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Tapera to his knees! Taite keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Defer Taite! After the big win, Defer Taite made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Ultimate Fighting Fuel and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
