Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Deron Etevem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Mcdermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Etevem comes to the cage accompanied by Vex. Mcdermott has chosen Broken Wings as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Deron Etevem has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Deron Etevem seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deron Etevem! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Terry Mcdermott! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcdermott lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mcdermott connects with a nice looking jab.
Etevem shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcdermott sprawls well. Mcdermott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Etevem gets slowly back to his feet. Mcdermott misses with a head kick.
Mcdermott fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Etevem, pushing him back against the cage. Mcdermott breaks from the clinch.
Etevem on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mcdermott. Mcdermott obviously looking to wear him down.
Etevem fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Etevem tries for a takedown but Mcdermott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deron Etevem. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mcdermott misses with a body kick. Mcdermott cracks Etevem with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Etevem shoots in looking for a takedown but Mcdermott manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Etevem's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Etevem fails with a takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd cheers as Mcdermott lands an impressive looking overhand right. Etevem doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Deron Etevem has been cut. Mcdermott instigates a clinch. Etevem is looking for a takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Etevem tries to score a body lock takedown but Mcdermott shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Etevem drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mcdermott gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Etevem is looking for a takedown. Etevem has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mcdermott avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Etevem can't get the takedown.
Mcdermott gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Etevem.
Mcdermott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A bone on bone clash there as Etevem blocks the leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Etevem. Etevem has his takedown stuffed and Mcdermott makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Etevem really felt that one!

Etevem is trying to drag Mcdermott to the mat but Mcdermott just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mcdermott breaks from the clinch.

Mcdermott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mcdermott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Etevem closes the distance and clinches up with Mcdermott, looking for a takedown. Etevem pushes Mcdermott against the cage but Mcdermott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mcdermott lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. A slapping leg kick lands for Mcdermott.
Nice cross by Mcdermott. Oh Etevem is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mcdermott gets in close and tags Etevem with a short punch that almost sends Etevem to the mat! Oh Etevem is in big trouble! He turns his back on Mcdermott, trying to create some distance but Mcdermott rushes him, striking wildly and Etevem goes down! The referee tackles Mcdermott into the cage to end the fight! Mcdermott is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Terry Mcdermott! Terry Mcdermott retains his bantamweight title! During a confident post fight interview, Terry Mcdermott thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
