Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fedor Emelianenko ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kono Oto! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko jabs at Oto's body. Oto looking to score a takedown here. Emelianenko is defending well but Oto drives through and ends up in Emelianenko 's guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Oto wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Oto looking to pass the guard. Oto throws a big elbow that misses. Oto wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving. Oto content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kono Oto. Oto lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Emelianenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Emelianenko is breathing heavily. Oto gets in close and instigates a clinch. Oto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oto closes the distance and clinches. Oto lands a right hand. Emelianenko could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Oto is working for takedown but Emelianenko is calmly controlling the position for now. Oto pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Oto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Emelianenko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Oto. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emelianenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Some wild striking there from Oto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oto throws a right hand that Emelianenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Emelianenko also avoids with ease. Emelianenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Emelianenko tries to sprawl but Oto drives through with a takedown into half guard. Emelianenko on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Oto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Oto lands strikes from half guard. Oto stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oto escapes and gets back to his feet. A jab from Oto misses. Oto feints and as Emelianenko raises his hands in defense, Oto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Oto wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position. Oto wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kono Oto wasn't active enough on the ground. Oto tries to bum rush Emelianenko with a series of wild strikes but Emelianenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Oto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Emelianenko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. This has been an exciting period of action! Oto looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Emelianenko is avoiding damage well.
Emelianenko seems a little lost for a moment, as Oto dominates the positioning. Oto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oto decides to take the fight back to the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Oto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Emelianenko taking some punishment here, with Oto in his half guard. Emelianenko is not content to let Oto control the position. Oto tries to pass to full mount but Emelianenko defends it. Emelianenko is refusing to be controlled, as Oto sits in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kono Oto was stalling too much, according to the referee. Oto darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Well, if Oto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Oto moves nicely into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oto advances nicely into full mount. Oto wants to control the pace but Emelianenko is squirming around nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oto controlling from mount. Oto has control of Emelianenko 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Emelianenko regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Oto. Oto looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Oto is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Emelianenko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Emelianenko shrugs it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oto connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Oto controlling from mount. Oto has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oto looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kono Oto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Fedor Emelianenko 's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Oto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Emelianenko 's waist but Emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oto off to one side. Oto has Emelianenko up against the cage in a clinch.
Oto stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Emelianenko throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Otos head. Emelianenko gets underhooks to prevent Oto's takedown attempt.
Oto manages to break the clinch.
Oto tries to clinch up. Emelianenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Oto throws a series of punches but Emelianenko avoids them all with ease. Emelianenko tries to clinch but Oto is having none of it. Oto scores with a three punch combo!
Fedor Emelianenko 's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Emelianenko gets tackled into the cage by Oto. Oto maintains the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Oto digs a right hand into Emelianenko 's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Emelianenko 's gas tank.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oto will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Emelianenko up against the cage. Oto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Emelianenko throws a right and a left that Oto avoids nicely. Oto instigates a clinch. Oto pulls guard. Oto trying to control the position.
Emelianenko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Emelianenko loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Oto scores with a short punch from the bottom. Oto working a defensive guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kono Oto. Oto throws a right and a left that Emelianenko avoids nicely. Emelianenko slips a jab and a cross from Oto.
Oto shoots in but no luck this time. Fedor Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kono Oto. Oto doesn't succeed with the takedown and Emelianenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Oto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Emelianenko 's waist but Emelianenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oto off to one side. Sloppy strikes from Emelianenko . Those never looked like landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oto manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Emelianenko on his heels. He'll look to pass Emelianenko 's guard now, I'm sure. Oto trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kono Oto has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Emelianenko looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fedor Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oto fails to land the takedown. Oto throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Emelianenko . Emelianenko swats away the attempt to clinch by Oto.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oto misses with the combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oto is defended easily by Emelianenko . Oto shoots in for a double leg but Emelianenko sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Emelianenko wants to clinch. Fedor Emelianenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Emelianenko misses with a body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Emelianenko to the mat! Emelianenko manages to get full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Oto trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kono Oto is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Oto sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that's the end of the fight! Kono Oto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Oto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
