Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Schellmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stefan Schellmann! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leo Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ruiz misses with a punch on the inside.
Ruiz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schellmann digs a good body shot into Ruiz's ribs. Ruiz thuds a left hand into Schellmann's body. Schellmann staying out of range there. Schellmann pushes Ruiz up against the cage in a clinch. Schellmann is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ruiz manages to break the clinch.
Schellmann slaps away a takedown attempt from Ruiz, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ruiz slaps away a takedown attempt from Schellmann, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ruiz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schellmann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schellmann wants it to stay on the feet. Schellmann fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Schellmann walks into a left hand. Ruiz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ruiz dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ruiz scores with a decent looking hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ruiz misses with a body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schellmann tries to clinch up. Jab, jab by Ruiz - just one landing. Schellmann looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stefan Schellmann. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruiz misses with a wild combination.
Schellmann shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schellmann showed some decent athleticism there. Schellmann performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Schellmann is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schellmann controlling the action here. Ruiz wants to control but Schellmann is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Stefan Schellmann wasn't doing enough on the ground. Schellmann closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ruiz did well to prevent Schellmann getting side control. Ruiz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Schellmann is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Schellmann drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schellmann jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Schellmann controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Schellmann pushing down on Ruiz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leo Ruiz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Schellmann gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ruiz. Ruiz lands a lovely overhand right. Ruiz gets caught napping as Schellmann dives in and scores a takedown. Ruiz manages to retain guard. Schellmann stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ruiz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Schellmann is looking to stand up but Ruiz won't let him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Schellmann pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ruiz is keeping the position for now. Schellmann working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ruiz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schellmann is working Ruiz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Schellmann controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Schellmann passes Ruiz's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Schellmann is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Ruiz is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Schellmann is thwarting Ruiz's attempts to control the position. Schellmann content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Schellmann passes to side control. Schellmann has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ruiz!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schellmann trying to control but he's not successful this time. Schellmann lands a couple of good shots and Ruiz has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Schellmann is landing with strikes. Ruiz can't take much more of this. Ruiz wants to escape the position.
Schellmann controlling the position well here. Ruiz rolled but Schellmann kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Schellmann punches the canvas rather than the man. Schellmann lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schellmann tightening his grip on Ruiz, looking for the choke. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schellmann is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Ruiz. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Schellmann wants to control but Ruiz is keeping busy. Ruiz looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Schellmann connects with a big shot to the side of Ruiz's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Schellmann has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Ruiz! Can he survive? No! He's out! Schellmann gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Stefan Schellmann! Stefan Schellmann spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
