Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Eddie Armstrong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marek Kulawski! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Armstrong drives through and clinches with Kulawski against the cage.
Kulawski tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Armstrong just stands there and leans against the cage. Armstrong wants to take the fight to the mat but Kulawski manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Armstrong. Armstrong gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Armstrong is pushing down on Kulawski's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kulawski is fighting to maintain full guard but Armstrong has managed to sneak the leg through. Still in half guard, Armstrong seems content to control. Kulawski is trying to control but can't.
Armstrong thows a huge punch but Kulawski dodges it nicely.

Armstrong lands strikes from half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Armstrong is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Kulawski tries to roll over but Armstrong keeps him under control. Kulawski is looking to escape. Armstrong missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Armstrong lands with a punch from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armstrong sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kulawski defending well though. Kulawski is trying to control but can't.
Armstrong seems to be working for a kimura but Kulawski defends the submission attempt. Armstrong performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Armstrong missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Armstrong perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Kulawski taking some punishment here, with Armstrong in his half guard. Armstrong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Armstrong is controlling the pace.
Armstrong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kulawski's head.

Armstrong tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kulawski knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Armstrong working over Kulawski with some ground and pound. Kulawski looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Armstrong missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Ground and pound from Armstrong. Armstrong prevents Kulawski from improving his position. Armstrong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kulawski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Armstrong lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kulawski trying to control but Armstrong postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Armstrong controlling the pace. Armstrong scoring with strikes to the body and head. Armstrong is controlling the pace.
Armstrong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kulawski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kulawski is rocked! Armstrong works his way into full mount! Kulawski tries to lock up and control but Armstrong gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kulawski working to try and regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oooh a big shot lands for Armstrong! Kulawski is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eddie Armstrong! After winning the bout, Eddie Armstrong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
