With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samuel Robinson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nig.
Robinson shoots in for a takedown but Nig shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nig checks a low kick from Robinson.

Nig has Robinson up against the cage in a clinch.
Nig has Robinson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Robinson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Nig has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Robinson is trying to keep an underhook but Nig manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Robinson wants to improve his position but Nig is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nig has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Robinson tries to lock up and control but Nig gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Robinson is in a horrible position here. Nig smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nig cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Robinson wants to control but Nig is having none of it.
Robinson looks winded!
Robinson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nig.

Nig takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Nig gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Nig tries to land a front kick but Robinson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Nice takedown defense from Robinson. No joy for Nig on that attempt.

Nig shoots in for a takedown but Robinson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Robinson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Nig has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Robinson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Nig scores with strikes from the back.
Nig will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Nig controlling the positon.

Nig is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Robinson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Robinson can't escape the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Nig drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jack Nig overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nig working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nig looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Robinson swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Robinson leaves Nig with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nig is looking to clinch but Robinson is avoiding it.
Nig will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Robinson wanted to stand there but Nig had control of the position.

Nig has control of Robinson's left arm, preventing Robinson from doing any damage.

Nig's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nig is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Robinson is controlling him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Nig looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Nig wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Nig throws the kick towards the body but Robinson avoids it.

and Robinson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Robinson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Robinson stops a takedown attempt from Nig.
Robinson is trying to break the clinch but Nig is controlling him.
Robinson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nig after a bit of a struggle.

Nig breaks the clinch.
Robinson stuffs the takedown.
Nig looks for a takedown but Robinson sprawls well.
Nig tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robinson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nig somewhat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nig closes the distance and clinches up with Robinson, looking for a takedown. Nig pushes Robinson against the cage but Robinson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Nig shoots for a double leg takedown but Robinson sprawls well. He's pushed Nig's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Robinson thows a huge punch but Nig dodges it nicely.
Nig has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robinson is working away from the top position though.

Samuel Robinson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack Nig is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
