Ghostal comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Good King Wenceslas kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tad Ghostal!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ghostal counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ghostal misses with a body kick.
Gracie moves forwards but Ghostal connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ghostal defends it nicely.

letting Ghostal counter with a right hand.

Ghostal tries to sprawl but Gracie drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Ghostal keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are battling for position here. Ghostal manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ghostal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ghostal pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.
Ghostal preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ghostal has control of Gracie's left arm, preventing Gracie from doing any damage.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tad Ghostal wasn't active enough on the ground.

Gracie moves forwards but Ghostal connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Ghostal pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've been hearing that Gracie has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Gracie advances position into side control!
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ghostal is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control.

Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ghostal keeps working.

Gracie thows a huge punch but Ghostal dodges it nicely.
Gracie wants to control but Ghostal is keeping him busy.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Ghostal is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Ghostal is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ghostal wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ghostal is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Gracie is staying active.

Gracie is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ghostal is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
