PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gor Keyman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carwin comes into the arena with Mama Said Knock You Out blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Carwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gor Keyman!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keyman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Keyman doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Carwin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Keyman's guard now.
Carwin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Carwin gets to his feet. Keyman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Keyman throws a leg kick that misses.

Keyman rushes Carwin and presses him up against the cage.
Carwin pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Carwin blocks an elbow strike from Keyman.
Carwin misses with a short punch on the inside.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carwin goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Carwin trying to land knees to the body.
Carwin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Keyman misses with a hook to the ribs.
Carwin comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like Gor Keyman has been cut.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Carwin just misses with a elbow thrown towards Keyman's brow.
Keyman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Keyman throws a head punch that misses.
Keyman digs a right hand into Carwin's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Carwin's gas tank.
Keyman lands a hook to the side of the head.
Carwin avoids the elbow strike from Keyman, against the cage.
Keyman misses with a punch on the inside.
Carwin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Carwin manages to break the clinch.
Carwin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carwin misses with a right hand
and Keyman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carwin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Keyman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shane Carwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Keyman walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Carwin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Carwin connects with a looping right hand.
We've been told by Carwin's head coaches at Xtreme Punishment that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Carwin throws out a loose jab but Keyman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Carwin misses with an uppercut
and Keyman counters with a nice low kick that buckles Carwin's knee momentarily.
Some wild striking there from Carwin.

Carwin gets tackled into the cage by Keyman. Keyman maintains the clinch.
Carwin wants to stall.
Carwin tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Keyman gets through Carwin's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Keyman creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carwin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Carwin tries to work over Keyman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Carwin lands a body punch in the clinch.
Keyman misses with a body punch.
Keyman goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A shot in the inside from Carwin.
Carwin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Carwin stalling.
Keyman is stalling here.
Carwin tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Keyman misses with the head strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carwin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Keyman is defending well for now.
Carwin softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carwin lands a left hand.
Keyman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carwin just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shane Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gor Keyman.
Keyman blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Carwin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Keyman blocks an elbow strike.
Carwin avoiding damage.
Keyman tries a body shot but Carwin blocks it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carwin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Keyman avoids it.
Keyman tries to pull guard but Carwin forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Keyman keeps control of Carwin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Keyman tries to work over Carwin's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Carwin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gor Keyman's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've been informed that Keyman has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Keyman cracks Carwin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut.
Carwin clobbers Keyman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Keyman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Keyman throws a big shot that misses.
Shane Carwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carwin swings for the body but Keyman moves out of range.
Gor Keyman seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Carwin fails with an attempt to clinch.
A big right from Keyman misses.
Carwin swings away with a body shot that misses

and Keyman counters with a nice right hand that sends Carwin toppling to the canvas! Carwin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Keyman finish him?!


Carwin is rocked!
Keyman weaves into range and cracks Carwin right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Carwin goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Keyman is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gor Keyman!
